A great WordPress.com site

Acquisition Abounds

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to thank you for following this blog and ask you to consider checking out my new all-in-one blog called “Acquisition Abounds: The Adventures in the Life of a Language Educator.” This new blog is where I plan to do most of my blogging from now on.

I really hope to see you there!

Songs, Songs and more Songs!

I asked my Edmodo friends to give me some ideas for songs in the Spanish classroom. Of course, as always, they delivered!!! I have already added some of these ideas to my first blog post which you can read here.

By the way, if you are interested in joining the most generous, hard-working group of Spanish teachers that exists, please check out my Edmodo Spanish Teacher Share blog post! You can also learn more about how to use Edmodo in the World Language classroom by reading this blog post called Edmodo is 24/7 Education.

I am looking very forward to going through these some below! I will add them to my various links to share, like on this Pinterest Board and YouTube, and then I will post a new blog entry with the updated resources.

Thank you so much for your help, ladies!

Song Resources

Singing to Learn Spanish Pinterest Board

Spanish Song Database created by Sharon Birch. Quite simply one of the best free resources for singing to learn Spanish!

Spanish Songs website with samples of music and links to purchase songs to learn Spanish.

Señor Wooly is a must-have for middle and high school Spanish teachers. Many students want to learn the songs by heart and they pack a punch of language learning! (Or acquisition, rather!) Thank you, Señora McPeak, for reminding me! 🙂

Zambombazo for authentic music resources. Here is the site’s objective: Una variada oferta de actividades divertidas basadas en obras culturales (canciones, tiras cómicas, carteles de cine, publicidad, arte, etc.) en las que se pretende aprender por descubrimiento sobre el idioma español y las culturas del mundo hispanohablante.

Señora McPeak’s YouTube Channel. Includes songs by Señor Wooly and Patty Lozano.

The Okee Dokee Brothers: A great album for younger learners. I have a monolingual friend who recommended this great resource. She is learning the songs along with her child and she enjoys the lessons in between the songs that teach the vocabulary words in Spanish and English.
